Police officers today are better educated and more highly trained than ever, but we are horrible at communicating with the public we serve. While the current environment dictates that we may need to be less aggressive in enforcement, this is a time to engage with our public. We need to be able to “dust people off” at times, and always explain to people what we did and why we did it.
